Starched pillowcases are one of my life’s simplest pleasures. The fragrance, the feel, the look – all combine to make me feel all is okay in the world. It’s about knowing that while many things may be out of my control, there are simple things I can do to make my life better. And with pillowcases being the only reason I get the iron out now – as my workwear is no longer prescribed by others – I feel I’m making great choices in other areas of my life. Freedom, choice and ironing. Sometimes the smallest things make such a difference.
