I find these essential in challenging times.
Advocates of pessimism cite research that suggests pessimists are less disappointed and therefore happier. However, in my experience, pessimism has been detrimental to my happiness and effectiveness.
I need a positive vision of what I’m aiming for, otherwise I’m blindly fumbling about, making crap decisions, feeling like the world is against me and feeding a cycle of depression.
The wonderful thing is, I know that hope and optimism are within my power.
They are the little bits of silver I keep in my pocket for the rainy days.
