What would life be like if we didn’t have words to describe our world? How wonderful it is to relive and share our experiences through language. I recently discovered the word “apricity” and fell in love with it. It’s not just how it sounds – beginning soft and then sparks at the end – but also it defines what must be one of the most sublime sensory experiences – the warmth of the sun in winter. I adore this feeling, of my body being re-energised by solar power. And now I have the words to say: I love these moments of apricity.
