Sometimes, in the drama and minutiae of life, it’s easy to forget what’s really important.
The green tile? Or marine blue?
It doesn’t really matter.
Fortunately, there are moments where the imminence of death takes centre stage, opening one’s eyes to what is important.
With ageing parents, I now have these moments regularly.
I often wonder if that is the whole purpose of ageing and death – to remind us to appreciate life while we still have the opportunity.
It must be something I’m still learning as I find I eventually revert to the not-so-important stuff.
Big things: Little by little.
