It’s the smell that hits me first, almost sweet, and then the breeze, with a slight chill to it, brushes my skin.
It’s a ridiculously simple act and yet it makes such a difference to the person, their work and society as a whole, when we take the time to say: You do great work.
I’m usually an “any ol’ colour as long as it’s black” kind of person but sometime in the last few years my visual senses went chromatic. I’m now beguiled by colour.
Perhaps it’s just that I like stories of marginalised women … Or perhaps it’s just its hilarious portrayal of lesbian sex. Either way, I’m happy.
Hope. Optimism. The silver lining. I need a positive vision of what I’m aiming for, otherwise I’m blindly fumbling about, making crap decisions, feeling like the world is against me and feeding a cycle of depression.
Disco is about celebrating the highs of life – and finding strength through the lows. It is pure exuberance and joy.
I’m not sure what made me happiest: whether it was the food being so incredibly awesome, catching up with an old friend, or sharing food with someone who was just as enthusiastic as I was about our carnivore’s delight menu.
