I was so overwhelmed – but in a good way.

I’d just received an gift from a friend – a thank you for doing something I do for friends all the time – totally unexpected. In this one simple gesture, I felt my knowledge, my opinion, my efforts were appreciated.

Such thoughtfulness had gone into choosing the gift – it was something I love and rarely buy for myself. And it was generous – more than a token but even a token would have been more than I expected.

So this is how people treat each other well – acknowledge, thank, appreciate.
