It’s been more than 15 years since I bought a pair of sneakers. My current 90s-era Adidas Campus have served me well but now sport cracked soles and worn lining. It’s time for new kicks.

I am a fan of the trefoil; an Adidas aficionado.

My favourites are Adidas SL72s. Designed for the 1972 Munich Olympics, they became THE off-field lifestyle shoe for athletes. They were my sneakers of childhood.

I search online and find a pair on sale. Without hesitation, I buy them.

They arrive. I slip them on. They fit perfectly.

I love them.

They are my Adidas.
