What is it that makes a happy place?

I’m talking about a physical space that makes you happy.

The beach does it for me – and the middle of a forest, and my home, after being away.

I understand the appeal of nature and home, but what is it about a built environment that makes me feel all is good?

High ceilings do it. Furniture that is comfortable, beautifully designed and unique. Thought-provoking art.

It’s familiarity and order, with openness and creativity.

I’ve recently found a new happy place. It’s all these things and more.

It’s my place of plenty.
