Every night at 7.00pm I tune into re-runs of the music show, Spicks and Specks.

I’m not into quiz shows so I don’t understand why this one makes me so happy.

Sure, I am a music nerd and, with a rolling cast of musicians and comedians, it’s entertaining but I’m at the stage where I know the answers and anticipate the punch lines.

This year, a new series with different cast was relaunched but the magic wasn’t there.

My funny, familiar, dinnertime family was gone and I found myself singing, “I like your old spicks better than your new specks”.
