What is it that makes sunsets over water so beautiful?

Sure, the urban-skyline and mountain sunsets can be pretty but they lack the grandiosity of the water sunset. I’m also partial to an outback sunset so maybe it’s a big-sky thing – the scope of colours, the expansiveness?

But still, the water sunset has something extra – is it the light reflections, making it all the more dazzling, bringing the golden rays closer so they take up your whole field of vision?

Or am I just more relaxed when near water and able to see the world in all its beauty?
