So, I’m leaving work at 6.18pm and my first thought on seeing the time is, “Ooh, I might get home in time to catch the end of Grand Designs!”

I wonder, briefly, if it will be an episode I’ve already seen, before reminding myself I’ve watched every episode of the television show’s 13 seasons (plus Indoors, Abroad, Trade Secrets, Live and all the “Kevin” side-projects).

Yes, it is sad, but Kevin McCloud’s acerbic (and yet, ultimately celebratory) commentary on the follies of those who create their unique spaces in our world of bland, well, it makes me happy.
