Yummy. It’s up there with “juicy” and “moist” in the words-that-make-me-twitch category. These words may be fine to describe food but have been forever tainted because I’ve heard them too many times with a TMI sexual connotation. And yet, when presented with a copy of the 1960s bubblegum pop single, Yummy Yummy Yummy, this word makes me smile. I see a 70s-style cartoon with long-haired, purple-and-orange-bedecked children frolicking – flares a-flapping. I’m back in my childhood where the chorus of “I’ve got love in my tummy” is all about scoring 20 cents worth of lollies from the corner shop. No twitch.
